Virtual Drum Workshops (VDW) are now online!

Virtual Drum Workshops (VDW) are now online! Bring the Dancing Drum experience to students with an in-person session with our Musical Director, Mr. Steve, streamed live over the internet. Or, choose customized, pre-recorded sessions with Mr. Steve that students can experience at their own pace, on their own schedule.

Every Dancing Drum VDW includes a "Dancing Drum Fundamentals & Found Sounds" preview video that students can watch the day or two before their workshop. In addition to introducing Dancing Drum's instructional methods and Rhythm Phonics, Mr. Steve demonstrates how to make a variety of percussion instruments from common household materials ("found sounds") that students can play at their workshop.

Online workshops will be scheduled for 30 minutes, with a gap to allow for transition and log in between programs. For example,

Assembly 1 - 9:30-10:00

Assembly 2 - 10:30-11:00

Assembly 3 - 11:30-12:00

Assembly 4 - 12:30-1:00

Students of the same or similar grade level will meet together, just like our In-School Programs. The idea is to replicate a normal Dancing Drum experience as closely as possible, virtually.

Each Virtual Drum Workshop is specially customized for the needs of each school or district. You can choose a curriculum focus area and number of workshops, date, and time of day. We will deliver the program using whichever online platform you prefer - Google Classroom, Google Meet, Zoom, Webinar Jam, Flipbook, etc...Let us know what's been working well for you and your students.
