Rock-and-Roll is as American as apple pie and the 4th of July. Born in the 1950s, Rock-and-Roll has roots in blues and gospel music of the Mississippi Delta. One of the signatures of Rock-and-Roll is a strong backbeat. In 4/4 time, the backbeat is played on the 2 and 4.

This course includes streamable video instruction and sheet music for Learning Levels 1-4, on stick drums (SD), hand drums (HD), shakers (SH), and blocks (BL), featuring a strong Signature Rhythm (SR) and Accompaniment Rhythm (AR). Students will feel the backbeat and learn to play a classic Rock-and-Roll rhythm arrangement.

Once students have mastered the Rock-and-Roll Drum Ensemble, you can add the Rock-and-Roll Xylophone Ensemble, which can be played on Orff instruments or even piano, guitar, or ukulele!
