Rhythmatize It!

Rhythmatize It! (RI) is a new approach to building reading fluency and comprehension through rhythm and chants. Students break down and analyze text, distilling each paragraph into a summary. The syllables of the summary are “Rhythmatized”, or set to a pattern of low and high tones which can be chanted verbally and played on simple percussion instruments. The resulting composition is a song, a rhythm, and a succinct text. Currently offered as a Professional Development session only. (Teachers of Grades 3-8)
